Whether you've recently switched your main bank account, need to add another one to your profile, or simply connected the wrong one by mistake, Updraft makes it easy to manage your linked accounts directly within the app. You are always in control of what's connected. Below, we'll guide you through the simple steps to add, remove, or change your connections.
How to add a new bank account
To add another bank account, you can go to the ‘Profile’ section of the app. You will then follow the same secure connection steps you used when you added your first account.
Step-by-Step Guide:
Go to Your Profile: Navigate to the 'Profile' section within your Updraft app.
Manage Connections: Find and tap on the 'Linked Accounts' option.
Add New Account: Select the option to 'Add An Account'.
Follow the Secure Process: You will be guided through the same secure Open Banking process to select your bank, authenticate on their app or website, and grant permission.
How to remove a connected account
If you no longer wish to have an account linked to Updraft, you can revoke access at any time.
Step-by-Step Guide:
Go to Your Profile: Navigate to the 'Profile' section within your Updraft app.
Manage Connections: Find and tap on the 'Linked Accounts' option. You will see a list of your currently linked accounts.
Remove Account: Find the account you wish to remove from the list and swipe on it to reveal the delete option.
Confirm Removal: Tap the 'Remove' or 'Disconnect' button and confirm your choice. The connection will be immediately and securely revoked.
Putting it together: How to "change" your main account
Changing the primary account you use with Updraft is a straightforward two-step process:
First, remove the old account by following the steps in the "How to remove a connected account" section above.
Then, add your new account by following the guide in the "How to add a new bank account" section.
Please note that removing your linked account (the Open Banking connection) does not cancel your Updraft loan or your Direct Debit.
This action only stops Updraft from seeing your new transaction data.
You are still responsible for making all your loan repayments as scheduled in your credit agreement.
If you need to change the bank account your repayments come from, please contact our support team through the in-app chat.
A few important things to know
You're in control: Removing an account immediately revokes our access. We will no longer be able to see any new transaction data from that account.
Allow time to sync: When you add a new account, it may take a few minutes for the initial sync to complete and for your transactions to appear.
We're here to help: If you encounter any issues during this process, please contact our support team through the in-app chat, and they will be happy to assist you.
